Who is Kevin Dickman?

Kevin Dickman brings over two decades of hands-on experience helping independent insurance agencies maximize their technology. Since 1998, he has supported teams across the country with everything from system integrations and workflows to download setup and data management. Agencies count on Kevin not just for tech help, but for smart, sustainable solutions that actually make their work easier. 

As an insurance expert with a strong IT background, Kevin understands how technology should serve the agency, not complicate it. He specializes in tools like AMS360 and WorkSmart and knows how to bring third-party integrations into the mix to boost performance and customize functionality. He’s also been a longtime NetVU board member and speaker, actively contributing to the AMS360 and WorkSmart PM&E communities. 

Kevin didn’t plan to work in insurance—but when a friend told him about an opening for an IT Manager at an insurance agency, he saw an opportunity to make a real impact. Coming from the banking world, he jumped into insurance through the tech side, quickly discovering how much he could improve systems and support teams behind the scenes. 

What drives Kevin most is learning and collaboration. “Every client I work with teaches me something new,” he says. “There’s no one right way to do things—only the best practice for that specific agency. Once we talk through their needs, we find the solution together.” 

He thrives on helping agency employees truly understand their systems and use all the features available to them, from form letters and proposals to full workflow builds and data reporting. Kevin doesn’t just fix problems. He helps teams gain confidence in their systems, creating long-term improvements that stick. 

When asked what advice he’d give someone new to the industry, Kevin encourages real-world learning: “As you’re picking up all the technical knowledge, make sure you’re listening to your coworkers. You’ll learn far more from them than from a book.” 

Originally from the banking world, now based in Oregon, Kevin continues to support agencies nationwide as part of the Angela Adams Consulting team. Angela is a popular speaker at NetVU conferences whether it be a local Chapter meeting, virtual webex session or National Conference. This is due to her experience with the Insurance Industry and passion for Insurance Agency Professionals. Angela has been in the Insurance Industry since 1980. She has held various positions with Carriers including System Interaction Specialist, Personal Lines Underwriter, Commercial Lines Underwriter. In 1992 Angela became a Licensed Property & Casualty agent for a large Brokerage firm in the Washington area specializing in Financial Products before joining Vertafore in 1996. While at Vertafore Angela Painter worked primarily in Development as a Senior Business Analyst and Product Manager on AfW and the AMS360 product since its inception. As the AMS360 Product Manager Angela worked closely with Agencies, Sales, Support, Implementation, Training and Development Teams to analyze, research, prioritize, design, and implement features within the AMS360 system.
