Who is Mary Wageman?

Some careers are carefully planned. Others start with a simple opportunity and grow into something much bigger. Mary Wageman got her start in insurance as a receptionist, and it’s grown into a career spanning more than three decades.


Since 1993, Mary has worked across the insurance industry, developing a reputation for turning complexity into clarity. As a Lean-Certified operations leader, she specializes in transforming workflows into efficient, scalable systems that support both growth and long-term stability.


Throughout her career, Mary has:

  • Launched new departments from the ground up
  • Modernized agency operations to improve efficiency and compliance
  • Built scalable processes that elevate service standards
  • Developed strong, accountable teams and mentored emerging leaders 


What sets Mary apart is her ability to see both the operational and human sides of a business. She doesn’t just build systems; she builds environments where people can succeed within them.

Outside of her work, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their three pit bull mix dogs – who keep life just the right amount of busy.

Angela is a popular speaker at NetVU conferences whether it be a local Chapter meeting, virtual webex session or National Conference. This is due to her experience with the Insurance Industry and passion for Insurance Agency Professionals. Angela has been in the Insurance Industry since 1980. She has held various positions with Carriers including System Interaction Specialist, Personal Lines Underwriter, Commercial Lines Underwriter. In 1992 Angela became a Licensed Property & Casualty agent for a large Brokerage firm in the Washington area specializing in Financial Products before joining Vertafore in 1996. While at Vertafore Angela Painter worked primarily in Development as a Senior Business Analyst and Product Manager on AfW and the AMS360 product since its inception. As the AMS360 Product Manager Angela worked closely with Agencies, Sales, Support, Implementation, Training and Development Teams to analyze, research, prioritize, design, and implement features within the AMS360 system.
