Ron Hocutt has been part of the insurance ecosystem for decades, but what drew him in was the opportunity to build something of his own.

After years working in the industry, Ron was motivated by the idea of running an agency where he could set a high standard – for both the work and the way clients were served. That drive led him to agency ownership, where he spent 17 years navigating the real-world challenges that agency leaders face every day.

That experience still shapes how he works today.

Ron brings a unique combination of technology expertise, agency leadership, and strategic thinking. With a background in computer science and an MBA, he started his career on the cutting edge of electronic publishing for major insurance carriers before moving into agency leadership and ownership.

Throughout his career, Ron has:

• Helped agencies navigate operational, financial, and strategic challenges
• Brought a practical, real-world lens to growth and decision-making
• Taught agency management through the CIC program as part of the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance 

Ron is known for cutting through complexity and asking a simple but powerful question: “So what?” If something doesn’t improve outcomes for people, he doesn’t believe it’s worth doing.

He is especially drawn to working with agencies that are serious about growth. Ron appreciates the passion many agency owners bring to their work and is motivated by helping them overcome the challenges that come with scaling.

His advice for those entering the industry reflects that same honesty: “I will share the same advice that was given to me: ‘You’re going to want to quit three times, but keep going – it’s worth it in the end, and people really need trusted advisors.’”

Today, Ron works as a Greenhouse advisor and consultant with Angela Adams Consulting, partnering with small independent insurance agencies to help them grow through the Greenhouse program.

Outside of work, Ron lives in Connecticut with his family. He enjoys spending time outdoors, especially in the fall, and doesn’t mind bringing a little humor into life!
